Poetry
Peter Clements

I studied English Literature and Theatre in South London for two years. I've sinced moved West where I currently study the art of acting. I'm a member of the Royal Court Young Writers Programme, and also a founding member of the theatrical collaboration known as Eight Missed Calls. Our first show, The 55 Second Plan, toured the London fringe before playing to joyous acclaim at a bigger fringe, the Edinburgh Festival. I guess I enjoy words, language and observing people on the Piccadilly Line (for inspiration).
I started writing poetry after seeing Carol Ann Duffy read her poems (drunk), Simon Armitage talk about a drop of bathwater bursting from his ear lobe, and Benjamin Zephaniah causing all the rudeboys to raise their gun-finger salutes to shout "Brap!". It was a Poetry Live GCSE event. I suddenly enjoyed my dog-eared poetry anthology. I was fifteen years old.

This year I'll perform new material live, observe people on the Bakerloo line (hey, it might be different), collaborate words with musicians and take a brand new play to a festival or two this Summer. I'll also create an experimental orchestra, and no doubt procrastinate about all of the above.
