Alessi

When Alessi grows up she'd like to live in a tree house. She started writing songs when she was fourteen. Paying attention to the smallest and yet sometimes the most significant details in the natural world is inspiring to her song writing. Trees, leaves, constellations, birds and the studying of dreams are some of her favourite subjects to write about. Artists that have been influential on her music and writing include Francoise Hardy, Joanna Newsom, early Tyrannosaurus Rex and Edward Gorey. A singer songwriter named Johnathan Rice asked Alessi to read some stories and sing a song of hers at his Halloween gig in Manchester in 2005. Since then she has played at a friend's night in a club in downtown L.A and can now be seen playing regularly in small venues around her hometown, London.

'I think of my songs as potions. I combine my own experiences with stories from friends and family and utterly fictional tales,' she says,' I like being here and I hope you like what you hear'.
